Segments are essential core components of the continuous casting machine (CCM). After preliminary forming in the mold, the steel slab still contains a liquid core with a fragile outer shell, which requires subsequent supporting, guiding and secondary cooling processes completed by segments. Equipped with casting rollers, the segments provide stable support and precise positioning to prevent the slab from bulging, deforming and cracking. Meanwhile, uniform cooling enables the slab to solidify gradually from the outside to the inside, effectively reducing internal defects such as porosity and segregation.
