The zinc pot roll

The zinc pot roll (sink roll, stabilizing roll) is the general name of the roll in the zinc pot of the cold rolling CGL unit. According to the different working conditions and products of zinc pot roller, the coating of zinc pot roller needs to have many properties, such as wear resistance, high temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance, molten metal corrosion resistance, slagging resistance, adhesion resistance and so on.

Product Details

The zinc pot roll, mainly including sink roll and stabilizing roll, is a general term for all roller components installed inside the zinc pot of the cold rolling continuous galvanizing line (CGL unit), which serves as a key core component of the hot-dip galvanizing process section in modern cold rolling production. In the continuous galvanizing production process, these specialized rolls are directly immersed in the high-temperature molten zinc liquid, undertaking the critical tasks of guiding, supporting and stabilizing the running steel strip. They effectively control the running track and tension state of the steel strip passing through the zinc pot, ensuring the continuous and stable progress of strip steel galvanizing operation, and their working state directly determines the surface quality and production efficiency of galvanized steel products.
Due to the extremely harsh service environment inside the zinc pot, zinc pot rolls have to withstand long-term high-temperature erosion, continuous friction and impact, as well as corrosion from molten zinc metal. Combined with the diverse working conditions and different product processing requirements in actual industrial production, the surface coating of zinc pot rolls is required to possess a variety of excellent comprehensive properties. These essential performance indicators mainly include outstanding wear resistance to resist long-term friction and abrasion with steel strips, reliable high temperature resistance to adapt to the persistent high-temperature working environment, excellent thermal shock resistance to cope with frequent temperature changes in the production process, stable molten metal corrosion resistance to avoid erosion and damage by molten zinc, good slagging resistance to prevent zinc slag adhesion and accumulation, and superior adhesion resistance to ensure no bonding between the roll surface and the steel strip, so as to maintain the long-term stable operation of the equipment and produce high-quality galvanized steel materials.
